Would like some opinions from my fellow lymies

My symptoms the past week (in chronological order):

1. Symptoms that resembled sciatica nerve pain (hips, lower back, thighs)
2. Sciatic nerve pain subsides and disappears
3. flu like symptoms excluding coughing, sneezing, and running nose occurs. Slight fever, some chills, achiness, sore throat. Tender swollen lymph nodes below the ears (the classic place)
4. a tender Montgomery gland on the right areola (yes men have Montgomery gland bumps too).
5. all symptoms now gone except the stubborn sore throat and the Montgomery gland.

And then someone where in between all this I got horizontal oblong shaped red rings (3) on my left chest. They look like a cross between the classic EM rash and Bart streaks.

I mean what I just described can be bart rearing it's head, Mycoplasma, EBV being opportunistic and popping back up or I fear (logical or not) it can be something else/new.

I always get worried when I have a significant flare and take a big step back.

Thoughts? Has anyone else had a similar combination of symptoms?

well, I had the reoccurring sore throat for a few months and the skin marks sound like Bart. I had some that were honeycomb/chicken wire looking...so very strange.

Chills that I had here and there I figured was Babesia.


With swollen lymph nodes under ears and flu/cold like symptoms is it possible you just had an old fashioned regular cold ?

But there were no sneezing, coughing or runny nose. Flu like symptoms minus those symptoms is more EBV-ish.

I think for me lyme makes EBV come back up once maybe twice a year. I got the same symptoms last year (feb 2017) minus the nerve pain.

Then when I research nerve pain of this nature borrelia and bart comes up a lot.

But I'm leaning more towards a "milder" version of EBV.

the hip, lower back, leg nerve pain worries me because that was a very early lyme symptom (like the first few months of lyme) more than 2 years ago. Haven't experienced since until now.

I am so sorry you're having these disturbing symptoms. I can understand why you're not exactly sure what it is. The whole constellation doesn't seem to squarely fit any one thing, although is does sound bartish to me.

Can you get some labwork done to check on viruses, etc?

Well I know I have EBV and Herpes I. Chicken pox herpes way back when I was little. No herpes 2. No HIV (already got tested this year). Never got tested for CMV I believe it's called.

What other viruses that fit these descriptions are left?

Oh, I did google strep bacteria. And that gives you chills, achiness, swollen glands, and headache as well. It is a more severe streppy sore throat than a normal cold sore throat.

However, I do know Bart can give you a pretty bad one too. I did experience a milder sore throat that came and went, came and went multiple times a day before this. Almost like it was building up to this moment.

If you haven't been tested recently and it is one of those, wouldn't the lab values change? I know mine did. At baseline, my myco Igg was just under 500. A year later it jumped to over 800. I can't really tell by symptoms though. Myco is supposed to cause overwhelming fatigue, and I don't have that.

If you have a Lyme doctor, I'd mention it and ask what they think and which viruses/bacteria you might should check. Strep is definitely a plausible one.

The thing about having Lyme/co is we don't always have textbook symptoms with anything including non-Lyme infections. Makes it hard for us (and doctors) to pinpoint, and we often end up assuming everything is Lyme or coinfections, when it probably isn't. I would expect any other infection would interact with or exacerbate symptoms of Lyme/co, causing those symptoms to flare at the same time the other infection is causing symptoms.

We're just complicated messes!!

I know. I had a myco test a month ago and it increased 200 points (I need to update my signature). Per my research myco also can cause sore throat and pelvic pain.

Just trying to narrow it down to which infection so I choose the right herbs.

#3 screams bartonella die-off to me. Fluish/weak symptoms are general herx symptoms, then the swollen lymph nodes drive bartonella home
