Hi 1000Daisies,
First I am so happy for you that Kid #1 is doing great as well as Kid #2 who is greatly improving.

The hard part for many is getting into the habit of detoxing (personally I love it!). I believe that without detoxing a person can not get better and you probably know why after researching Dr. Jernigan and his philosophy.

I'm not challenging the importance of detoxing, and I know it's heavily promoted on this board.
But I will share that Kid#1 is well nowadays (for over a year), despite not having a strong detox program. He felt the detox baths were calming, but they were only minimally helpful (certainly not significant).
Also, Kid#2 has greatly improved this year (better but not well yet), and he also does not have a strong detox program either. I tried so many detox things for Kid#2 for an extended period of time (listening to the advice on this board), and we didn't see any real benefit from doing so. We moved on.
I truly wish I understood what is going on with my kid's immune and detox pathways. I've always felt something "different" was going on with them as part of their sickness.
I share this because it may be discouraging to some people on this board who read that detoxing is a must and don't see improvements/benefits from such. We did not but are still improving/healing. Why? I wish I knew and probably never will fully understand it.

Kid#1: Extremely sick for several years, very difficult to treat, but doing great now!
Kid#2: Still sick now despite being treated for years but doing better (not well yet).
Kid#3: Generally good but relapsing off/on.
Me: Adv Labs positive 2016 (suspected I passed to my kids)-not as sick as others, mostly battling fatigue and yeast issues (heart/kidney issues resolved)
Treating with herbals now.

When I wrote that detoxing is a must I was basically talking about
Dr. J's Healing at Home protocol since we were talking about
the Hansa Center. The doctors there always stress the importance of detoxing.
I look at it this way: people use different methods to kill the bacteria and what is left over? Toxins. Where do those toxins go if not eliminated from the body? They circulate in the blood, bones, brain, etc.
Just by urinating, having bowel movements, sweating, etc. a person is detoxing. Exercise is a great way to detox if one is able to.
That said, it is possible that some have the MTHRF Gene Mutation issue which I have heard about
but not researched.
Heathersdad (Don) posted this in 2014:
I have seen occasional threads over the last couple of years that explore the MTHFR issue as it pertains to impaired detoxification. Everyone agrees that it is a major obstacle to be overcome for many Lyme patients. I have enjoyed reading the articles written by researchers and clinical physicians that touch upon the issue. Truly some of these physicians have helped their patients with herbal/supplement protocols that target the issue. Unfortunately though, have they really solved the problem? They seem to assume that the genetic expression is always irreversible and can only be managed by a continuous infusion of certain herbs and supplements.
Dr. David Jernigan has recently written a 2 part article that takes a completely different approach based on the most recent science. He starts out in Part 1 by explaining the role and nature of the genetic code of human DNA, and how it is expressed by the operation of over 4 million epigenetic biophotonic switches. With normal function, an optimized body, soul, and spirit creates the energetic commands that flips the switches. In abnormal and unhealthy situations, other factors create abberant energetic influences that flip the switches of genetic DNA expression.
In Part 2 he likens the human body as similar to "fiber optics" and a "dynamic software program" in composition and function. In many cases genetic expression is quite reversible as its normal expression has already been changed to a dysfunctional state by certain harmful influences, i.e. environment, pathogens, toxins, emotions, etc. So it is often quite possible to change genetic expression back to a normal and healthy once again. Dr. Jernigan specifically mentions MTHFR as among the genomes that can be changed. They were and are able to accomplish this fete with my daughter and with many of their other patients as well.
His 2 part article is aptly named "Are You Doomed by Your DNA?" The answer is often NO! Genetic structure can often be recompiled to a healthy state for some genetic mal-expressions. I found that it was necessary to read the article very slowly and several times to truly understand what he was saying. Here are the links:
davidjernigan.blogspot.com/2014/09/are-you-doomed-by-your-dna-part-1.htmldavidjernigan.blogspot.com/2014/09/are-you-doomed-by-your-dna-part-2.Once you read this article, then you will understand why I sometimes say that detoxing itself is not enough if you body does not have the ability to detoxify! I am not claiming that the physicians at the Hansa Center are the only ones that truly understand MTHFR issues, and that you must visit their clinic. I am simply saying that it would be in your best interests to visit a physician that truly understands MTHFR issues, and has the ability to treat it at the source, rather than apply a bandaid in many instances if MTHFR is an issue for you.
My hope is that all of you precious people would have a better day tomorrow!!!
