Doxycycline Herx?

On my 5th day of doxy 100mg twice a day. I read that dose is not strong enough to kill any Lyme so is it possible to still get a herx from it? I have burning soles on the bottom of my feet as a flare up but the last few days on the doxy has really made it bad. Wondering if it could be a possible herx.

Gosh yes! Our DS herxed so badly on it when he started with the LLMD/NP they pulled him off it and put him on pulsed minocycline plus other stuff for his co-infections. Detoxing is key and you could try hot foot baths with magnesium to see if it gives some relief.

It's strong enough to kill some lyme bacteria...but most likely not high enough dose to get into remission.

And if it's a chronic infection, you will need at least one more antibiotic to add to the doxy.



Sounds like a herx.


Burning soles - could be Bartonella.

The burning on my feet seems to be getting worse the last few days and now its in my shoulder too. Can't tell if it's stress related or if it is the doxy herx.

Anyone have any recommendations to help with this burning? I tried some Epsom foot soaks but did not really help except in the short term.

I also get short-term relief with epsom salt baths.

Usually good for a couple of hours...sometimes longer.
