Hi All,
I have been diagnosed with Chronic lyme a few years ago and have been to a few LLMD's since. When I was first diagnosed, I was treating Lyme with a protocol including 6 different antibiotics (pulsing on/off). This had made me very sick and I was unable to tolerate it despite detoxing. I have tried different antibiotics, herbs, LDN, etc. and hadn't really found anything that worked for me. I have currently been taking the Rawl protocol for about 4 months and have been feeling pretty good. However, recently my symptoms have began to come back and are worse than they have ever been (I feel liked every time I have a flare up, it is worse than the time before). I am experiencing daily headaches, terrible fatigue, back and jaw pain, numbness in fingers and toes, chest pain, etc. I feel like every time I start a new protocol, it works great for a few months and then wears off. I am going to my doctor on Tuesday and was wondering if you all have any other ideas as far as a treatment approach. I have also been thinking about seeing a cardiologist due to bad chest pain/tightness, shooting pain when taking deep breaths and high pulse rate at all times. I fear that everything will check out ok and they will send me on my way. Please let me know any advice/suggestions!

I suggest adding herbs that are specific for bartonella. I don't think Rawls' herbs have what it takes to knock out the coinfections. Based on the symptoms you mentioned, I suspect bartonella. The following are in Buhner's protocol for bartonella. There's much more to the protocol than these, but these are the ones I would recommend adding to the Rawls protocol if they are not already in the formulas you are taking. Even if they are in the formulas you are taking, you could take extra of these.

Japanese knotweed
Sida acuta
Equal parts Isatis, Houttuynia, Alchornea

Oh, pardon my manners! I just realized this is your first post. Welcome to the forum!! I'm glad you're here, but I'm sorry you're struggling with these infections and trying to find the treatments that will work for you. Thank you!! I know japanese knotweed is in the protocol, but I don't think the others are in there. I will have to look into adding them! I actually have been on here, but forgot my username and password-whoops! I figured it would just be easier to make a new account haha.

Woodland Essence makes an IHA Formula, which has those 3 herbs already combined in equal parts. They are one of Buhner's recommended sources. I use the formula for convenience, but I also have the individual herbs so I can experiment with them.

I agree about Rawls - and coinfections.

I emailed them for some information about that and they were very curt...and not helpful at all.
