So I was diagnosed with Lyme, Bart, & babesia & I've been treating the bartonella now for about 6 weeks. Well today I woke up feeling so strange & I don't know if it's a herx or what's going on.

I feel as if I'm numb but not really. More like my touch just isn't as good as usual. If that makes any sense. Kinda like how you feel when you get drunk.

Like rubbing my face felt weird. & I feel like my brain fog is also worse. I have kinda experienced this before but it was never like my whole body.

& this is gonna be weird but I'm gonna share anyways. I get the weirdest feeling ever when passing gas. I can't feel crap.

I'm not sure if I woke up like this and it gradually happened or if it was because my rifampin. Because as soon as I wake up I take rifampin since it has to be on a empty stomach. I didn't really notice it before taking it but like I said it was only a short period of time before I took it.

So I don't know what to make of this. Could it be a herx or what? Thank you all so much!

It's probably a bartonella herx/flare from the Rifampin. I can get numbness pretty much anywhere, too. Most of the medical stuff talks about numbness in the hands/feet (peripheral neuropathy) or in the face (Bell's Palsy), but I get it all kinds of places and mostly don't notice unless I scratch and it feels numb. I've even had it in the roof of my mouth up into my head behind my nasal passages. Now that was a weird feeling!! I don't like any symptoms in my head. Not that I like them anywhere else either! LOL

You're okay. You're just feeling the joys and thrills of treating this mess.

WBF- The head symptoms are the worse ones and I also had the numbness in mouth sinus a strange feeling for sure.
I always worry about my teeth and mouth because of this. I try to do oil pulling with coconut oil and now I'm rinsing with Tom's mouthwash with Xyitiol in it too. That sensation hasn't happened in a while now but it used to be quite frequent.

I wonder if others with the Bart have had this feeling in the sinus/mouth.

BBN!!-I agree with WBF that it sounds like a herx. Make sure to detox and I use binders to help get rid of the toxin die off too.

over feeling things and under feeling things are nerve issues caused by lyme and co.

My issues were "over feeling".

Isn't clarithromycin an antibiotic?

Detoxing is like taking epsom salt baths, drinking lemon water, taking Alia-Seltzer Gold, dry brushing skin before soaking or showering, far infrared sauna, or just plain old sweating.

Binders help to bind the toxins that get released and get them out of the body - activated charcoal, modified citrus pectin, bentonite clay, and a number of others.

I worried a lot about my teeth, too. For a while I was convinced mercury was getting moved around in my mouth, but then that all stopped for a while. It's back now but not as bad as before. I still haven't gotten my amalgams removed. I saw a biological dentist, but he doesn't know about or do all the stuff I read about on the internet related to Hal Huggins and removing amalgams in order of electical charge, etc. He also doesn't have a scanner for cavitations other than digital X-rays.

I'm still scared and since I'm feeling worse all the time, I wonder if it's safe for me to do. I'm so afraid it will make me horribly worse. I guess I read too much stuff on the internet and scare myself. But seriously, I haven't responded as expected to much of anything doctors or I have done, so I don't think my concerns are unfounded. I can't seem to get toxins out. That seems to be my main issue. I just seem to get more and more toxic all the time. Sorry for the rambling.

I haven't had my amalgams removed either, oh I'm so sorry that you are having issues with toxins.
Have you ever asked Traveler what may help, sometimes ... well, most of the time she has good a good instinct for what is going on and for what may work.

Walking to faith, you're right. I thought this whole time I was taking it because my doctor Said I wasn't detoxing enough... my bad. Thanks for letting me know lol
