Can cyst busters speed recovery?

Can the addition of cyst busters such as tindamax and flagyl to antibiotic protocols speed the killing of borrelia? Or are these agents used solely to prevent cysts from causing a relapse once antibiotic therapy is discontinued?

I don't know if another antibiotic - whether it's tindamax...flagyl or another antibiotic will speed the killing of borrelia.

But, in addition to busting cysts taking two or more abx will help keep the bacteria from developing resistance to the antibiotics


Different antibiotics have different ways of being effective. i.e. Penicillins kill the bacteria by interfering with the cell wall. Macrolides prevent growth and reproduction by inhibiting protein synthesis. etc. etc.

there is no single known compound that can be safely given in adequate dose that kills lyme persisters more than 30% However combinations of at least 3 antibiotics get the killing as high as 80%.

combination therapy is not new, it is used for decades to treat TB too. for TB u need to take 3 antibiotics for 9+ months
