Burning back pain - left side

I was treated for Lyme in 2013 and haven't had any problems for 3 years, until January - I had terrible shoulder, neck and jaw pain that lasted for 3 mths and then went away.
A few weeks ago I started having fire-like burning left side back pain (in the large muscle that is to the left of your spine, at bra strap level). I didn't have this burning back pain with previous Lyme.

My Dr. hasn't ordered any labs, but is assuming it's the Lyme returning, based on my symptoms.
She has prescribed:
Antibiotics (3 mths max) - Doxy & Cefdinir (7 days a week) and Flagyl (2 days a week).
Herbs - Biocidin
Probiotics
Argentyn 23
For Herx - Bolymex, H2 Absorb and Glutathione

I'm concerned about taking this heavy dose of antibiotics without any lab workup (what if it's not Lyme?). Dr. says we will do labs in 8 weeks. Anybody else have this symptom with lyme??

I see that you posted in 2016 - with some questions - including the burning back pain - did you go back on treatment then?

Hi there. I just read your post and wanted to offer my opinion. I noticed the only symptoms you mentioned were shoulder, neck, and jaw pain followed by burning back pain. While it certainly could be Lyme related, it could also be related to a back or pinched nerve issue. If I were you, I would be thoroughly evaluated with X-rays or MRI (whatever is used) to see if there is an issue with the spine, a disc, a pinched nerve, etc, before assuming Lyme and restarting treatment.

If it turns out it isn't Lyme, treating it as if it were could open up a can of worms, not to mention cause wasted time, money, and worry.
