Thanks everyone. I took lions mane for the first time yesterday (heard it was good for the nerves) and I don't know if that's what did it or if it's just what's going on with me, but 3 hrs later my headache got to the point that again i thought it was going to explode and the pain in my neck too. It's 4:10 in the am and it still hurts so badly and I just feel so awful! I don't know what's happening to me I have never gone through such horrific months like this and there seems to be no light at the end of the tunnel
How much lion's mane did you take? Is it tincture form? What brand?
Lion's mane crosses the blood brain barrier and can dump spirochetes from the brain, according to the information provided on Beneficial Botanicals website. There's is the most potent 1:1 ratio and is the only brand Buhner recommends for lion's mane, presumably because it's the most potent. If you only took a few drops, though, I wouldn't think it would cause worsened symptoms.
I've never felt any reaction to it at all, but I was taking a weaker tincture from Woodland Essence. From what I understand, lion's mane has to be taken long term to have any healing effects. Healing nerves is a long, slow process.
