I have yet to completely reverse my lyme brain. Yes its a lot better vs the cognitive wasteland in my skull before, but siblings still dont get it.

Word searching I hate the most, you cant cover it up. So I have learned to think ahead of time what I want to say, if its something that takes more than "automatic" thought/reply (like actual thinking).

sandyfeet - mine is getting better...not quite there yet...but hopefully it will continue.


I went through a really bad period... I couldn't remember anything...

It's still perplexing to my husband...as he always relied on me to be the organizer, planner...etc.
And sometimes he seems surprised that I don't remember something he told me the night before.
It still hasn't really sunk in for him after a few years...

Actually for the first year or two...it wasn't so bad...it got worse after treatment started...I think because I didn't treat bart or babs for over a year...just lyme...and it must be one of those infections that affected my brain the most.

A year ago was really bad...

I just forgot a sibs B-day. The one that does not and refuses to get this.

In my family, this is not forgotten. Since I'm over 50, I don't expect much for my B-day, but thats just me (just an age reminder now).

My brother never recognizes my birthday. I just think it's a guy thing. (in general)

Doesn't really bother me.

I wouldn't worry about it. You can always take your sibling out for a belated birthday lunch (if you live close enough) That should redeem yourself.

My Lyme brain has gotten worse, I have to go on STD and Maybe LTD if I cant get better. Anyone here get better with IV ceftriaxione, and or High dose Vit C ?

This is a good description.

My family doesn't seem to (siblings also) acknowledge that I have an IQ loss and other neuro-psych complications. I was supposed to be the smart one. Now they still lean on me like as if I'm still supposed to be strong and sharp.

I have experienced all of these symptoms more or less, and I can literally feel the encephalitis.

And to not be able to plan a normal day of productive activities is disheartening to say the least.
