How do you rebound after an antibiotics break? I took a killing break for two weeks from all anti-parasitics and antibiotics. I started half a dose of rifampin and alinia back last week, and I have been herxing so much the past few days. I didn't think I would lose that much ground, but I am back to several of the symptoms that I had before even starting this protocol back in February. Outside of detoxing what else do I need to be doing? I hate feeling like I lost so much ground in just two weeks. It's kind of depressing seeing that I can't even go two weeks without drugs right now. I wanted to start them back slowly, working my way back up to full dose of Doxy, Rifampin, and Alinia. So glad I did. Are there any herbs that I could be taking to help build my body back up? Thanks!

I haven't found that I relapse after my 1 or 2 week breaks.

Maybe ext time do only one week off?

It probably just means your body is still dealing with an overload of toxins. I know it feels discouraging, but if you will respect your body and go at the pace it can handle, treatment will go smoother. There's no way we or any doctors can tell us what the holdup is every time we have struggles. There's too many possible causes and testing for them all is expensive and not as accurate as it should be. Patience and perseverance are required to get through this. You can do it!

Is it your Dr. telling you to take the 2 weeks break? If so, maybe discuss this with him - what's happening...maybe he will change it to only 1 week off.
Sounds like you are regressing some after the 2 weeks.

Girlie, yes, he did suggest the two weeks. But that's the first break I have had in over two years. We just decided to try two weeks to see what happened, but I don't guess it was a good idea looking back. Now we know! He doesn't believe in pulsing. Or breaks obviously. haha. I was considering just switching back to herbs after the break, but if I am herxing this much on the abx, maybe I should just stay put and focus on supporting my body any way I can. The Alinia and Rifampin are really hard on my body anyways.

Gosh! I didn't realize you'd been on abx for 2 years straight without a break! For some reason when I read your post, I thought you had just started treatment in February.

So you've been on abx of some sort for 2 years and February is when you started Alinia and Rifampin. Is that correct?

I'm not too familiar with abx. Is the Alinia to treat intestinal parasites or babesia? Rifampin is to treat bartonella, right?

For adrenals :I take Asawahganda and Rhodiola

For toxin build up: zeobind , also Jernigans Neuro Anttitox II CNS/PNS

Immune building;Vit C , Cordyceps, I am able to take astragulas (but some people can have issues if they have chronic Lyme) .

Buhner also suggests: Eleuthero 1:5 tincture, Glycyrrhiza, Withania somnifera

Remember to always do your own research and check for side effects and contradictions.

Herbals can be potent and are medicinal and I am not an medical expert.

Alinia is an anti-parasite med, and it does affect Babesia, too. And, yes rifampin is for bartonella.
Alinia can be paired with Rifampin...but Mepron or Malarone can't.

Yes, WalkingbyFaith, well kind of. I started Cowden in January of 2016. Then antibiotics June 2017. But had been killing with something for two years straight.

And yes, Girlie is correct. Alinia for parasites and babs. Rifampin for Bart.
