Hi everyone i have not been on here for a long time i am not sure anymore if this is major depressive disorder with anxiety or lyme and coinfections or just coinfections....i went to germany for 2 weeks really did not feel.any different except for the first week home i actually was sleeping alot which was great because i have not slept since October and it was getting worse and worse heart palpitations so severe and trembling i thought i was going crazy ....the thing is no one in germany seemed to be as anxious or depressed as me and they could sleep....last year I was doing well on buproprion 150 mgs and just 1 mg of ativan at night I was also on two antibiotics so i do not know if the buproprion was helping or the antibiotics I lowered the buproprion to 100 mgs and everything went down hill after about 4 months i was still taking antibiotics but i think i just got immune to them and they were messing up my gut... is this mental illness or coinfections coming out i have babesia,bart and lyme is still showing up but it could be dead lyme not sure...i just feel lost anymore my new dr wants me on zinthromax so i will be starting that in a couple days I just feel like giving up anymore and confused i have to take trazadone and ativan for sleep my heart races Every time I lay down and i was trembling all day starting the second week home from germany legal and all I did not want to go out in public ...is igenix reliable germany told me the lyme is dead i have been home 8 weeks....but my lyme dr said I still have it....i also had to start lexapro low dose 2.5 mgs because of the shaking but i feel depressed on it but it stopped the trembling in my legs but i also slept last night because i slept with the trazadone .....is this major depression?anxiety disorder i would shake in my sleep gasping for air every time i dozed off?is it coinfections??I am so lost anymore i really need some advice i am so depressed i do not even want to shower and feel fearful all the time.....should I up my buproprion?? To 150 again ??

Please keep in mind that azithromycin can cause long qt syndrome hence the FDA warning.
If the first dose worsens your heart palpitations then I would switch to a different antibiotic that's not in the macrolide class.

Why would she prescribe this then ?what else could I take? My family is getting frustrated because they want me to listen to the dr...

She would prescribe it because it's a common, relatively safe antibiotic (and one that works) for lyme and also for coinfections when paired with another (mepron for babesia, rifampin for bart)

It is rare. But you don't have to be pre-disposed to it...it can be acquired (Long QT syndrome)

I think low magnesium can be an issue...are you supplementing that?

Hi girlie yes started magnesium Malate last night 2 in the morning 2 at night....she is just starting me on 1 per day because i am so sensative......girlie what coinfection cause you to wake up out of your sleep gasping for air and trembling??

I think it could be bartonella or babesia. I had the waking up gasping for air too. For me, I think for me it was from bartonella.

I don't think you're crazy. I think you have coinfections. If you are very sensitive you may not be able to tolerate antibiotics. If that's the case, you can always switch to herbals and take as tiny a dose as you need.

Thankyou walking by faith i think i have severe depression i do not even want to shower ....i will try the zinthromax because i am desperate to get better...

I think it was Babesia. Although it improved even before I started Babesia treatment.

I wasn’t trembling - I was in a panic though.

I'm not Girlie, but I can say antibiotics really really helped me. Minocycline was the best by far, followed by Ceftin, and Clindamycin. Zithromax was the least effective for me. All of my symptoms started coming back full force when I started Zithromax. Hopefully you do not experience the same results with Zith.

Just stay away from Rifampin if you are on Ativan. It will nullify and put you into withdrawal.

Did you do the hyperthermia treatment in Germany? Have you had any positive response to any antibiotics?

I didn't know that. Both of the Drug Interaction checkers I use showed nothing regarding those two together.

Yep benzos and opiates and many others. It significantly stimulates CYP450 enzyme that your liver starts churning into high gear. that enzyme quickly gobbles up and neutralizes many toxins and medications.

It gobbles up birth control, other hormones, diabetic medications, cancer drugs, HIV drugs. It almost totally shuts them down.

people can get pregnant, risk cancer/ hiv progression, etc...

I am now wondering if this is why so many people have bad reactions to Rifampin.


I learned the hard way. I have been on a stable Kratom regimen for quite a while. I started Rifampin the other day and 3 days later I was in acute withdrawal. Looked into it, and realized it totally shuts down several analgesics.

All abx are generally never administered alone when treating Lyme and co’s.
Azithromycin paired with Mepron can be effective for Babesia.

I meant powerful as in strong. I don't know how effective it is against lyme & co on an intracellular level.
Yes I know that it's usually combined with tetracyclines or other abx to increase the overall effectiveness.

Believe me the azithromycin by itself is strong or powerful. Otherwise some people wouldn't get those horrible heart issues from it. A weak medicine will not mess with your heart like that. Does it actually kill the pathogens? Who knows. It definitely has the potential to cause fatal cardiac arrythmias though (hence the FDA warning). So caution is advised. Especially for people with pre-existing heart problems.
Other more healthy people on the other hand seem to tolerate it quite well. So it can also be useful to some people.

I don’t think the side effects of the abx equate to strength and/or effectiveness.
ie - Azithromycin having a black box warning doesn’t mean it’s more effective for treating Lyme than minocycline (no black box warning)

I had the same response from Zithromax- nothing. It was like I wasn't taking anything at all. I wasted a month on it too.

I know that doesn't mean it won't work for someone else. but yeah...
