So I have two positive babesia titer blood work results 1:256 and an infectious disease doctor told me it’s a mild result so it doesn’t mean a positive result. It’s strange that he would say that given I have two positive results.
He also misspoke when I told him I have two positive Lyme C6 peptide tests. He told me that test has a very low specificity but I politely told him it is a highly specific test and will fax him a publication on that. I sent him a publication showing that the test is 98.8% - 99.5% specific (meaning it is VERY accurate). There are several other publications that concur with this high specificity. The fact that I tested positive twice on highly specific tests should be an indication of a positive result. I think it would mean there is a 1/100 chance of a false positive and if I had two positive results it would mean 1/100 x 1/100 = 1/10,000 chance of a false positive. At the very least he should call me to apologize that he misspoke…. Sigh why do I have a feeling this won’t happen…

LOL - I suspect the chances of false positive on two tests is probably off the charts higher than what you think. Prob less than 1 in 1,000,000. Why do ID docs behave they way they do? It is so strange

I doubt it will. Let us know if he responds
