"The first project is a joint venture between Duke, Johns Hopkins, and Tulane which was fully funded by the Steven and Alexandra Cohen Foundation. The goal is to use a specialized high thoughput proteomics platform to find new drugs to treat Lyme and bartonella. It's the same precision medicine technology used to find drugs for cancer and HIV, only this time it's finally turned toward eradicating Lyme and Bartonella. And we already have lots of initial hits!

The second project is further along in that we're ready to go forward with drug formulation and laboratory testing. I'm working alongside Dr. Neil Spector of Duke, Dana Parish, Dr. Ed Breitschwerdt and his several of his team from Galaxy Diagnostics and NC State, and too many others to list here. We're developing what we believe will be a game-changing drug for the treatment of bartonella and Lyme, made possible by this joint-development effort involving some of the smartest folks from academia, the private sector, and the non-profit world,

First, we plan to demonstrate in the test tube that we can eradicate these bacteria after they've infected cells. If all goes well, then it's on to an animal study, and from there, human trials. "

these two projects are very exciting, seem like these have the most potential of any such research that has been conducted...ever. i like that Galaxy is involved, i am currently do their Bartonella Test Protocol in parallel with treatment, curious how that will go.

I hope this works.......so , so many people suffering....and even if your at 95 % better like me after 18 months of treatment , my health, body and life still are not the same as before. Still having symptoms.

None of us want to be stuck at almost better forever.


Thanks to all that are trying to figure all of this out. We need help out here.

it is promising, long term...in all of the big players are involved together in the research...both Dr P and Dr Spector have been infected so they understand more than any other doctor....Spector needed a heart transplant...and working with Galaxy is awesome too...

So Question on this. Let's say best case scenario the second option works for Lyme and bartonella and go through the trials, first tube, then animal and finally human. Roughly how long would that process take before it reaches adoption by LLMD's? 5 years? 10 years?

Even if it takes many years I will be so happy that others, especially children and the elderly will have this available and they wont have to suffer as much as us.

years- but the hope is that if this is an actual cure for bartonella, that it could be given to many people afflicted with a variety of symptom based diseases that big pharma has no cure for (ms,fibro,alzheimer,ibs etc)and then medicine will change as we know it if the theories of these drs is right ...thats the hope...cdc barely even recognizes bart, and we know the testing for lyme and bart are atrocious as best...

here is another article about it, where they say animal testing in 3 yrs...then who knows until its approved for human testing...i can see cdc/big pharma dragging their heels when it gets to humans, as a cure isnt as lucrative as an immunosupressant

This sounds promising and I'm super confident of the team based on my limited knowledge of them. I heard Dr. Spector speak in one of the links posted here. I was very impressed with him. Also feel really good about the Galaxy folks. They are currently the leaders on bartonella at the moment as far as I'm aware.

this one seems more hopeful since phillips and spector have skin in the game. sapi is involved too, believe she was previously infected too.

i suspect it maybe like other studies once they start publishing studies, LLMDs will start trying to integrate them into their protocols, regardless of phase of the study. who knows maybe this will truly be a game changer.

regardless, we are still have to push forward with the current treatments that are available today, and hope a better solution will be available for all in the future.
