Hoagie,
Hope it goes well. Have you been evaluated/treated for CIRS previously?
This will be my first time. I have a feeling I may have to pick up and leave my house. We'll see. I'm pretty convinced mold is my primary problem. I have the gene and exposure. I think the lyme infection just made everything worse. Were you the one who had your house renediated? Did it not work? We're trying to make a decision about
that now. We've been living with relatives for a year and a half.
My biggest fear though is if we sell it and move, we could still end up in the same situation. I have chemucal sensitivities, too, pretty bad and that further complicates things for me.Sorry to hear that WBF.
I did have remediation done. But from what I've been reading, it most likely wasn't enough.
Our bathrooms are very poorly ventilated. Mold has shown up a couple times on the ceiling of both bathrooms. Both times we sprayed with concrobium and painted over the stains with Killz paint and primer. But it comes back. I have read that that the ceiling should just be replaced.
We recently had the hvac unit fully replaced due to mold in the air handler and uv air purifiers installed in the air handler. We also had the crawlspace remediated for mold as well. However, the subflooring under one of our bathrooms had sustained some pretty hefty damage from a leaky commode. So it was sprayed with antimold botanicals, but not replaced.
I feel there are probably all kinds of spores in our carpet due to the hvac blowing it throughout our house for who knows how long. I fogged the entire house with Benefect. Air tested 3 rooms with a machine I rented from a mold company. The tests came back with a very low mold count per cubic meter. Which is good. But I have since discovered that air testing is extremely unreliable. The best test to use is the ERMI test. You get dust samples from your carpet and a lab analyzes it. So, now I have to scrape up more money to do that. And if that test comes back with a high rating, we are moving elsewhere. Our health is way more important than the loss we'd take on the house.
God will provide.
