What does nerve pain feel like?

There's different 'types' of nerve pain.

What I've experienced:

- a sharp shooting pain


- a burning, searing pain

The burning, searing pain is what I usually experience in my thoracic back, left arm, and hand. Not much helps to relieve it.

I would take joint pain or muscle pain over the nerve pain in a heartbeat.
Not only is the pain intense...it's worrisome knowing it's the nerves and they are generally more difficult to heal.
