Trying to understand my Babesia results

I am still trying to understand what these numbers mean I saw a specialist last monday and he went over it but still confused. He put me on Malarone to add to the Cefin that my doctor had given me for lyme. I started the Malarone 6 days ago and have been having a very hard time crying fits,depression ,terrible thoughts .These are what the results say is there also a level of severity in Babasia?

Babesia Microti antibody panel
Babesia Microti lgG 1:80 H Neg:<1:10

Babesia Microti lgM <1:10 Neg< 1:10

Looks like you have Babesia Microti - looking at your results.


A negative test doesn't rule it out though...so f you did test for bart and it's negative...you still could have it.

Do you know if the numbers have a range of how bad you have it?

No - the test results just show that your immune system is producing an antibody response to the parasite.

You're welcome....

Just want to add about the test results. When we diagnose based on antibodies - it relies on our immune system to be strong enough to mount a response.
So a negative - you could still have it if your immune system isn't functioning well.
A positive means you have it and your immune system reacted to it.

So, not higher/lower levels of the disease...does that make sense?
