Try herbals, they are much more effective in my opinion. You will feel worse at first. Took me 6 weeks of mild herx until I felt mostly recovered.
i relapsed badly while on herbals for 2 years.
my advice is if on any treatment, u see your health going down for months and months, and never go back, it means u are not going to be better, and change treatment and even the llmd if she is too stubborn to understand...
do not stay like me for 2 years on herbs thinking at "the healing power of plants" while the bacteria takes hold of your brain. i did not have brain fog before the herbs and i ended up like that and i barely managed to pull myself out of it.
i told my dr time and time again im getting worse and she was pumping B vitamins in me to "compensate"... she was treating herbs only... some doctors just live in denial at their patients' peril ...I always promote ABX for the much needed haymaker punches. If health is deteriorating fast use ABX to assist. After that initial potent assault of ABX one can switch to herbs finish the fight and/or keep lyme at bay.
Can herbs only take some one from 0% to 100%, yes it's possible but herbs are a thousands japs versus ABX which are haymakers. With the former just a much slower process. "Death by a thousand cuts".
Doing both at some point during treatment is the way to go, for both bring things that the other does not to the table.
As much as I'm an herb guy, I've never got out of a lyme hole with only one or the other. ABX tends to get me out of the hole, while herbs keeps me out of it for as long as it can.
