Advice re Borrelogen

Hi All,

So, I began taking the Borrelogen in combination with the Neuro Antitox about a month ago. Since then, it's been a roller coaster ride. At first I felt MUCH better. Then I experienced periods of intense sleepiness. Now, the anxiety and hopelessness are creeping back in. This has been over the past 3 or 4 days.

I'm wondering whether it might be good to switch up the formula I'm taking now, rather than staying on the Borrelogen for 2 months and then switching to the micro formula? Maybe try one month of Lymogen, THEN switch over?

Also, does anyone know how much Antitox it is advisable to take? Is there a max dose. The other night I was doing REALLY poorly--intense anxiety and the suicidal thoughts were creeping back in. I decided to take an extra dropperful of the antitox and it REALLY helped--and helped pretty quickly. Since then (Sunday night) I've kept up the double dose of Antitox. I wonder whether it'd be advisable to take even more than two droppers when I'm feeling particularly unsettled emotionally? Any input?

If you have Bartonella, you are supposed to begin with Lymogen. Do you have Bartonella?

I've taken an extra dose of Neuro Antitox II when I had a bad headache a couple of days ago because there are smokers in the apartment below and it rises to my apartment.

I took 3 squeezes of NA II and 10 minutes later I took 3 squeezes of Lymogen. My headache went away.

I just did it that one time. I also have to take molybdenum before the NA II because I'm sensitive to alcohol.

My normal dose is 2 squeezes of each remedy 3 times a day.

When I first started noticing a change was with my diet before going on the remedies. I cut all meat and sugar, even fruit temporarily, flour products (even all bread, pancakes, pasta, etc., for a while). I ate mostly vegetables and a little beans (mostly cannellini) or ground pumpkin or sunflower seeds (only about 2 Tbsps. of beans or seeds). Eggs sometimes and added 1 Tbsp Flax Seed oil with breakfast. Other fats like extra virgin olive and coconut oil and sunflower oil (all unrefined and organic), I used as a dressing along with squeezed lemon or balsamic vinegar.

Also, I started eating 3 meals a day where I had only been eating 2 meals a day. I try not to overeat. I drink liquids before and after the meal and not with the meal.

I was beginning to have a little more energy, not so tired. And that is just with my diet change.

What is your diet like and how many meals a day? What are you actually eating? How often?

Keeping a Journal has helped me a lot.

I have done some binging that I absolutely wouldn't have thought I did if I hadn't written it down. It's beneficial if you know what you're doing daily. That way you can correct it the next day.

Thanks so much for your replies. TheDude--thank you SO much for taking the time to scan those pages. I have to read them more thoroughly when I have more time, but my first response is to order the Lymogen and try that for a month. Also, I've been taking them formulas in liquid and I'm going to try the under the tongue method. I've never been formally diagnosed with Bart, but who knows?

In answer to your question, my gut tells me this is not a herx, but rather buildup of ammonia due to die-off. I was WAAAAYYYY worse when I was taking abx. Crying every day, suicidal thoughts, etc. I think the Borrelogen is helping my body kill off stuff, and I'm just not detoxing it fast enough. I wouldn't be afraid of herxing on the Jernigan protocol. I've experienced WAYYY more serious psychological disturbances from both herbal antimicrobial treatments and from conventional antibiotics.

My diet is OK, but it could be better. For the most part I am gluten and dairy-free, but I do cheat a bit. I probably shouldn't, I know. I eat three meals a day. Staples are Amy's brand gluten and dairy-free burritos, and kale and spinach salads with a bit of chicken and other veggies. I do have one coffee per day with half and half. And I'll cheat on a sweet once in a while. Something like hard candy--I don't ever do cookies, cakes, ice cream, or anything like that.

Thanks for thinking of me, and for the advice about the Neuro-Antitox. Again, my gut is telling me that the higher doses are helping me right now. So I think I'll continue.

Re my life and work stresses--pretty much the same. I'm afraid there's really not much I can do about that right now. Two jobs and two teenagers, one of whom goes off to college next year. An ex who is VERY much unhelpful--stress is inevitable. I'm trying to eliminate it as much as I can.

Here's an example--I've been trying to get my above-ground pool up and running for two weeks. First the pump dies, then the skimmer leaked. I really should do a new liner this year, but I cannot afford it, and this one's not leaking yet. I've tried to deal with all of this on my own--installing the new fittings on the pump myself, and trying to install a new skimmer gasket. Both are leaking, because I don't know what I'm doing.

I know it's just a pool--no big deal, right? But in my current state of mind with my anxiety levels heightened, I've been stressing over it, and there's nothing I can DO about it. It's like I have no control over my brain. Logically I know it's no big deal, but my brain tortures me none-the-less. So, I just called a local pool company and they're coming on Monday. It'll cost some money that I really don't have right now, but I think it's worth it, for the amount of stress it will hopefully eliminate from my poor, overtaxed brain. Already, because I know a solution is probably coming, the stress is lessened.

Re the Borrelogen, the book says start with Lymogen if you have bart. I don't know if I have bart, but I do have anger/irritability issues, which I think suggest bart? I've been positively diagnosed with babs and Lyme via blood test, but never bart. Of course we all know that doesn't mean I don't have it. I think I'm gonna order the Lymogen, continue taking the Borrelogen and the double Neuro-Antitox till it arrives, then switch over and see how I feel after a couple of weeks. I can always save the remaining Borrelogen I have for the part of the protocol that calls for taking both Borrelogen and Microbojen (sp?) at the same time.

Glad you're calmer. You sound more settled in what to do next. I'm also a single mom who raised my daughter by myself. It was really tough. She just graduated from college and our lives are at a decent level now but they weren't when she was growing up. So, I sympathize with you.

I also had a pool when I owned a home but wasn't able to use it after the 1st year because the chemicals got me. I loved it. I hope you are able to get yours fixed.
