Thanks for link to that article Hypatiac, very interesting world class research going on over there to say the least.
I made Oregano garlic honey wings with extra extra oregano to try to get a medicinal effect the other day. I can't help but think there was a die off because it put me down for about a day and half and I had to bind it all out with some cholestyramine.
I don't know if the cooking herb oregano is powerful enough, but it's better than nothing and I sorta like food and cooking so, why not.
Here's the quasi-medicinal recipe: I put like 1-2 table spoons of oregano on 2 chicken wings lol, with two whole minced raw cloves of garlic and just a drizzle of honey and olive oil, and about a half a pat of butter the wings were already cooked from a supermarket deli, just reheated in a toaster oven, then apply the fixings raw. Add hot sauce if you like, yes cayenne can stun intestinal bacteria too.
Also speaking of oils like citrus terpenes too, I sometimes eat pieces of raw lemon peel or orange peels for the micronutrients. And I go through jars of coconut oil more often now. Good stuff.
No reason to not enjoy food as medicine, my spoonies.
