Histamine is not in 23andme data as far as i found.
This is the link I found. Can you confirm whether or not this would tell me good info on histamine issues?
/www.geneticlifehacks.com/histamine-intolerance-genetics-part-2/Well.........I just learned what ABP1 gene is. I didnt know it effects the DAO enzyme which..... breaks down histamine.
My 23/me is 4 years old, so they test more varients as time goes on.
Of those 6 variants listed in your life hack link, my old 23 raw data tested tested 5 of them. I do have double copies of one gene, even though i had histamine tested by Quest labs- its a normal test. My histamine levels were normal, so I guess my double gene was not expressed at that time.
I can and do drink coffee again, but stick to lower acid coffee.
**Back when coffee gave me the jitters was also when my adrenals were toast.** I was wired and tired all the time and coffee sent me through the roof- even with good histamine levels.
If you have lab coverage with health ins, it will cover the Quest histamine test. You could also try some over the counter anti histamine and see if you feel better with it.How did you get your adrenals back in check? I would loveeee to be able to enjoy a good cup of coffee without knowing I would be sick for the rest of the day. Is there a good test for adrenal function?
