Recommend me herbs to take

Japanese knotweed is great. As far as antimicrobials etc. I did also use a sida acuta, cryptolepis. I would say Houttuynia tea is very good too as is berberine. Woodland Essence is a good company.

I would also suggest some supporting adaptogen herbs. Ashwaganda or echinacea or eleuthro.

Are you taking supplements? Vitamin C, magnesium, Vitamin B, omega-3's etc? Also probiotics.

For lyme: Japanese knotweed, Cat's Claw , Eleutheros are good

Bart: Japanese knotweed, Houttuynia, Sida Acuta

Babesia: Cryptolepis, Sida Acuta, Bidens Pilosa.

I order from Woodland Essence and love their products.

Just note besides killing herbals , restorative herbals are helpful also.

For Sida Acuta bUhner states:
The main side effect I have seen is that, for some people, sida can increase fatigue and symptoms of co-infection. If this occurs, reduce the dose. That will generally end the problem

The herb should not be used if you are trying to get pregnant or newly pregnant.

The herb contains ephrdrine, although not in large quantities.

The herb is hypoglycemic, it may affect medications for diabetes. Just watch your blood sugar levels if you are diabetic.

Since it does contain ephedrine it probably should not be used with pharmaceuticals that possess similar effects.

Japenese Knotweed:

It is contradicted in pregnancy.

Side effects of high dosages are primarily gastrointestinal in nature--dry mouth, bitter taste in mouth, nausea, vomiting,abdominal pain, diarrhea. In very rare cases loss of taste has occurred. It takes a while to return(months). If gastrointestinal side effects occur, reduce the dose.

Drug interactions:
Should not be used with blood thinning agents. Discontinue use of the herb 10 days prior to any surgery.

The plant is synergist and may potentiate the effects of pharmaceuticals and other herbs.


Cryptolepis:

Researchers in some instances have noted that people taking cryptolepis have elevated levels of ALP(Alkaline phosphate) and uric acid, which return to normal after the herb is discontinued.

One of the herb's constituents, cryptolepine, has been found to be cytotoxic, which raises concerns in some people.
He writes a note about cryptolepine is cytotoxic because it itercalates DNA, making it

Useful in cancer treatment.

Drug interactions: None noted, however...cryptolepis has been used in traditional medicine to help rectify insomnia.

There is some potential for the plant to synergize with hypnosedatives or central nervous system depressants. Caution should be exercised.



I am no medical expert, and all of the above is taken from Stephen Buhner's, "Healing Lyme" and Co infections books on Babesia and Bartonella.

Always do your own research and beware of side effects and contradictions.

Yes start slow! I made the mistake of starting way too high too fast and man did those herbs Pack-a-Punch. Low and slow and I'd say after about a week or two then slowly increase. With herbs for my personal experience I know it's a more controlled but slower way of healing.

What does the hawthorn help with? I bought some but I haven't tried it yet.

Second what others have said on here! Tinctures for those antimicrobials are very strong. Start very small 5 drops I would say if you are not prone to herxing and titrate up every 2-3 days if no reaction.

Started the JK last night (5 drops) and took second dose just now (5 drops), will probably take another 5 tonight before bed. Am now at 3x/day of whole herb artemisia so far with no issues. Will prob add in the SA tomorrow. I imagine the Houtouynia will arrive Tuesday or Wed - any contraindications with that?

Also am getting igenix testing tomorrow to see where I’m at since my last tests were in March.

I got up to 1000 mg of japanese knotweed, about 50-60 drops of sida actua, and about 3 droppers full of artemesia tinture 3 times a day. I think I was up two droppers of houtynnia, but I can't remember. I'm not especially sensitive to herbs.

I don't think there are any contraindications.
