Hi members.

I'm Michael, i'm from england and i'm a new member.

I have lyme, and bart infection, maybe babs, but i'm not sure.

I'm working with a llmd, and he has prescribed me mino/pyrazinamide/ceftin. I don"t know anything about this infections and i've studied other protocols, and it doesn't include this TB drug.

I belive in my doctor, but it's not a common protocol, really?

That would be a great cocktail for me. Both Ceftin and Minocycline were very effective for me. No idea what Pyrazinamide is.

I don't know anything about pyrazinamide. I hope mino and ceftin work well.

I can't find anything about pyz. Only TBC studys.

I was on PZA, I found it helpful. It's a good drug for bart and a good persister drug, often used with TB like you mentioned. Ying Zhang has had presentations on TB and lyme and he mentions PZA quite a bit and its great potential to hit persisters in these various infections.

I had to get bloodwork pretty often (I think every two weeks) while I was on it. Dr H in NY uses it as well and generally sees good results with it.

I don't think PZA is generally a first line go to for treating these infections, I think most llmds like to cycle through more basic protocols first before they hit up the pza. But it should be effective!

In theory it's effect i've against bart, michaell.

Sebreg, how long have you been on that drug? And with combination? Thank you.

If you do a research in google, the first impresion is that it's a weak drug, and only effect i've for TBC but in addition with other abx. I'm not saying it jejeje only the information that one can find on internet.

I was on it for a while, I think about 6-7 months. I'm trying to remember the combo I was on, I think it was something like doxy+rifabutin+PZA+ceftin.

It's not a common protocol because many LLMD's will do the protocols that have been done for many years to treat bartonella/lyme ...and do work for a lot of people

I believe there are more serious risks with the pyrazinamide...so it's tried after the usual combinations have failed.
