Gene mutations and how they might effect recovery

Hi folks,

I have been looking at whether i have gene mutations, just a hunch but i dont think my body is clearing itself properly or at the very least working as efficiently as it should be.

I am not sure if anyone here understands how such gene mutations play a role in clearing and fighting off infections as well as detoxing but i would very much appreciate if someone could give me some kind of idea of what these results might mean i need to do.

It seems i dont have the MTHR gene but that i have others like BHMT, SHMT, VDR which are +/+ but the COMT, MTRR are +/-.

I have yet to go over the report as its quite a bit for me to grasp but if there is someone who understands this and may be able to go over it with me i thank you greatly.

Hi doors12, thanks for the message.

I will check out all the links. Believe it or not i have just been checking out heartfixer (think i got the link off tired of lyme website but cant remember).

When i first came to this forum i actually did not think i had MTHFR but i noticed that my body did not feel like it was communicating and clearing properly so i wanted to look into this just to make sure. It seems i am lucky not to have the MTHFR but i do suspect some of the other mutations are causing issues.

I have been trying to sort of understand the methyl cycles as best as i can, its hard because my cognitive processes are a bit all over the place hence why i have posted in the first place.

However i suspect going by what i know so far is that B12 is not being used properly in my body and that i need "Betaine" and "methyl-B12" supplementation.

I am going to thoroughly read everything i can find on my +/- and +/+ mutations so i dont take too much etc.

If i was well i would actually find it fun to study this.. but when your so ill like this you cant even perceive it as fun. It feels more of a chore, the lack of energy levels is terrible.

I notice you said you feel worse? Would you say supplementing has helped you go to the toilet more?
