I was chugging along well until I had an allergic reaction to a medicine (I think diflucan) a couple weeks ago and was put on prednisone briefly. I've had a significant relapse since then -- vision issues from inflammation, plus extreme fatigue, brain fog, joint pain, depression, insomnia. (Not sure if this was because of the reaction or the prednisone or both. But that doesn't matter right now.)
Bonus factors: I also have been having questionable reactions to other medications so I'm currently afraid of them all. I'm supposed to be adding something new for low cortisol levels that I haven't started yet. And now I'm realizing yeast is becoming a problem and I can't take the diflucan. Ugh.
Before the reaction, I had just been instructed to extend my time off abx from one week to two to try to get my immune system to do more of the work. (I'm on a MWF pulsing cycle with time off after two weeks of meds.) On Monday, I felt like I couldn't wait and took my abx after only one week off (against instruction
but I felt awful). Now I'm wishing I hadn't started for a variety of reasons, and I want to skip the rest of the week and restart next Monday. (That means two weeks off with just one day of abx in the middle.)
Is there any reason that would NOT be ok and I should continue this week?
Also, any suggestions for yeast other than diflucan and diet? (LLMD said there's no alternative.) I've heard GSE can help with that and I want to take some this week but hope I don't flare more from it.
LLMD is hard to reach between appointments.
