The life of a red blood cell is about 120 days so that's why they recommend Babs treatment for 4 months minimum. You should treat until all sx are gone for 2 to 3 months. Many of us here treated babs for much longer. Trouble is that some Babs sx overlap Lyme and/or Bart, so who the heck really knows how to treat.
about 5 years ago I was plateaued at around 50 to 50% healed treating Babs for my second time for over a year first with Mepron, then double dose Mepron, mixing in a few rounds of Coartem, and introducing Crypto, then Sida, then CSA blend into my herbal Cat's Claw and JK alternative treatment. At a stall with no more progress, we then switch over to an aggressive Bart protocol and I quickly improved to 80 - 85% healed.
When I hit 90% I weaned off abx too quickly and maintained CSA, Cat's Claw, and JK, but relapsed after three months. It's been up and down ever since.
Good luck with your battle.
