No, I'm not sure. She has reactions to Claritin and Cromolyn.
If I don't treat her potential leaky gut we'll never know whether it was her gut or MCAS. Leaky gut is a primary cause of progressive food intolerance. All of the food, vitamin sensitivities started after taking a very brief course of antibiotics. So in retrospect I kinda think it destroyed her gut health, which was probably already in poor shape.
Did you ever try leaky gut treatment?
I was given Xyzal and Famatodine, an H2 blocker, and reacted horribly to it. I mean weeks long intense disability. Turns out, all these antihistamines are loaded with fillers and inactive ingredients that sound absolutely brutal. I was reacting to those.
Im not saying she doesn't have leaky gut, just that she may have both. I certainly have it and have been tending to my gut for years now. I react poorly to colostrum and whey due to the lactose. I do so/so with broth because even though it's healing, it is high in histamines. Glutamine powder can be a bit helpful but that can raise glutamate in the brain so watch for anxiety or hyperactivity from it. Good saturated fats are great; ghee, duck fat, chicken fat etc.. Some of us with mast cell issues have trouble with coconut oil so don't be surprised at that.
Im sorry you guys have to go through this. I wouldn't wish it on Stalin
