Hoping to get someone who can relate

To make a long story short, I was diagnosed in January started treatment in April (I was at my absolute worst) I was put on Biaxin,augmentin,Rifampin and Mepron for Lyme,babesia,bartonella and Pots. My last appointment (July 15th) I was feeling pretty good, I would say 7/8 out of a 10. He took me off Mepron. Not even 1-2 weeks later I started getting bad. The motion dizziness came back, the brain fog was horrible. Driving makes all these symptoms come out 10x worse. I emailed the dr and told him what was going on. He ordered me Malarone. I just got it today and took my first pill. Has anyone ever been in my position and has this helped them? I honestly feel hopeless of this doesn’t help me.

3 months on babesia meds sure doesn't sound long enough. you should be on mepron or malarone until symptoms resolve. i did almost 14 months of babesia treatment before it was dead and buried.

most LLMD's don't treat babesia long enough i just don't understand why they have such short stints for this pathogen since it lives in the red blood cells at total reproduction of them is at least 120 days. i would talk to your LLMD about keeping you on babesia meds (mepron or malarone) for much longer at least until the symptoms resolve for a few months.

What is your dosage of the malarone?


If you don't get a response within a week or two...I'd let your Dr. know that it's not working like the Mepron did...and ask (beg) him to prescribe another couple months of Mepron.
Although, you may need more than two more months....

Also look into some herbal options - Cryptolepis is a good herb for Babs.
