Anyone have frequent urination/low anti-diuretic hormone

Have only found a little on this on boards, but curious if anyone else has had it considered or tested.

I have gone through episodes of frequent urination (months at a time) over the last-few years. The kidney specialist has told me though my kidney numbers are off, he does not believe they are causing frequent urination. Basically dismissed kidneys.

Happen to come across symptoms of low anti-diuretic hormone (ADH). It fits the frequent urination, electrolyte imbalance, thirst I experience. But it does not fit other aspects that can come with low ADH, such as low blood pressure, vomiting.

Has anyone else had this considered or been tested for ADH with symptoms I mentioned? Always looking for possible answers. Have found very little on it with Lyme Disease.

Hey Girlie - I have had frequent urination on at least three times now for months at a time. Seems when I feel better, it goes with it. Did you have any burning or inability to go? I have not.

People will sat it "just comes with Lyme Disease, sometimes." But there has to be a driving mechanism in the body or brain causing it.

Being low on antidiuretic hormone seems to come as close to explaining it as I have see. One post read "it seems to clear with successful treatment of Lyme Disease or co-infection." In turn, that would mean something in Lyme or co-infections causes it, which seems to be the case.

But I don't hear of many people that have been tested for it. What gave me a little laugh was wondering what "successful treatment" is with this.

Finally, does anyone who has been around know how Traveler is doing?

Girlie - Have been tested several times for infections and IC. Came out negative, but who knows. Had hoped for answers there.

WalkingbyFaith - thanks for the link. I've seen others, but not that one. Recently had a lot of tests done, and osmolality was very low. Doctor had me cut back on water consumption, and it came back to right at normal, or low normal. Just hard being thirsty and not drinking as much water. If no that, not sure what it might be.

Then again, we all have different symptoms that can be confusing.

I was posting that to back up that it can indeed be from bartonella. (according to that LLMD).

I have problems with frequent urination and urgency, was tested for ADH and it came back normal. I heard Horowitz say in a video that frequent urination has to do with problems with autonomous nervous system, just like heart palpitations, POTS etc.
My frequency is now better than it was two months ago - no idea why. Basically all of my symptoms come and go, in a crazy merry-go-round.
I also heard it can be linked to bartonella.

Shoemaker definitely believes it has to do with mold and other biotoxins, including borrelia biotoxins.

I do think it could definitely be caused by bartonella or the other infections, too. In fact, many of us who were discussing it recently also have bartonella.

I had frequent urination most of my life UNTIL my chronic Lyme symptoms started in 2009. Back then, I would feel frequent urges but not urinate much and drank no water and liquids only with meals.

When I got sick in 2009, I had constant thirst and drank massive amounts of water. Frequent urination went away and I would go hours without urinating. By the time I'd feel the urge, it would almost be too late. Had minor incidences of bladder leakage for a few years.

Then I found out mold was an issue and did the best I could to get away from it. The bladder leakage stopped then. I still drink a lot of water but not quite as much as I used to.

I started adding pink himalayan salt to one glass of water a day. Doctor suggested the salt. Can't tell for sure if it helps.

Recently, I was urinating more. Urine was clear, and I was feeling dehydrated. I had been taking dandelion root to support my kidneys. I stopped the dandelion root, and my urine went back to light yellow, and I felt better.

I think organ supporting herbs, like dandelion, make your organs work "more efficiently." If you have low ADH, maybe it makes your kidneys expel even more fluids, exacerbating the problem. Just a guess.

Interesting for me - I never had the thirst - but the urgency to go and more frequent


But prior to lyme I used to hold it (I know that’s bad) so I may not be a good judge of that. (Frequency)

But after Lyme I definitely had the urgency - inability to hold it

I have low adh. I was able to normalize it with 10 doses of desmopressin (every other day). It was great - wasn’t going at night. But it didn’t last. I guess bc the root cause was not fixed.

My kidney’s are definitely expelling more. I’ve never once felt the need to go and nothing come out. I occasionally have wbc & trace blood but no bacteria overgrowth when cultured.

K07 - I also have slight wbc and trace blood too show up when tested.
Can’t see anything (blood) in the pee

My eye exam did show some bulging of nerve so i had visual field test and meet with optic neuro Friday. It’s prob all caused by lyme or bart. Logically, if fluid is not draining out then something must be blocked.

What did your mri say? That you had intracranial hypertension? Can it be seen on an mri?


I think I should have another eye exam, including the visual field test. It's been over 2 years for me now...last one was good though.
