American cheese vs other "real" cheese ?

My food intolerance tests says I am not intolerant to American cheese (Velveta, Kraft singles ect) compared to real cheese - cheddar, Swiss ect. Test still says 100% cow milk is not the best for me, but American cheese is not that bad for my inflamation. This makes no sense.

I had previously stopped consuming all dairy and 'good" cheese was an obvious offender to my gut. I never really cared for American cheese, but I just tried 3 slices of Kraft singles two hours ago, with no adverse gut affects.

Dont know the exact details of the difference in making these, but this is interesting news for my taste buds.

astro - are you talking about processed cheese (slices) vs natural cheese?

Not sure what you mean by American made.

There is also good cheese made in America...isn't there?

American cheese is the flat, square, orange slices that come individually wrapped in plastic.

so the processed cheese slices....haven't had one in awhile....

WBF - I only tried goat cheese once, which I found to have an odd texture and taste. Could have tried other brands, but didnt.

I imagine the American cheese is so over processed that the casein or lactose no longer resembles its former self. That said, I like that more than the even more processed fake vegan "rubbery" cheese.

Girlie- USA makes some really good cheese, think Wisconsin - which is all about beer and cheese. Why the over processed orange stuff is called "American" cheese is beyond me.
