Hey all. My dermatologist told me today that my rash (that I was worried about) wasn't contagious nor a fungal infection. He told me that he thinks I had a fungal infection that was treated appropriately, but it left behind an eczema that may or may not go away with time. It doesn't really bother me since it doesn't itch or anything, but it does look a different color than the rest of my skin so I'm trying to find a way or two to manage that.
He recommended a mild topical steroid (like OTC cortizone). I know ingested and injected steroids are super bad for Lyme, and I stay away from them. Do you think I could get away with a small amount applied to the skin? I doubt it'd effect my immune system, since it's just a small localized area. I may call my LLMD to ask as well, but I would like to hear what you all have to say. Have any of you used cortizone? Did you experience any changes when you did?
