What type of doctor should I seek?

Hello all!

I posted here a few times not long ago in regards to Lyme and the best ways to go about dx'ing. I've come to the conclusion that I likely don't have Lyme as I did DNAconnex and Igenex WB IgG IgM (not sure if that's right but it was $250) and both came back negative. I then did a 10 days of eating like crap, drinking some, eating lots of raw garlic (5-12 cloves a day, RIP tastebuds), a capsule with 6 drops of oregano essential oil, andrographis, and cat's claw daily. I had no increase in brain fog, tinnitus, TMJ pain, and none of the weird old symptoms like migraines, feeling like I'm in a dream, light sensitivity, etc came back.

Also, I didn't believe the ole garlic breath myth until I had it myself lol. I got real good at sign language in that week and a half!
So I'm asking this because I know of any disease, Lyme sufferers have probably been through the most doctors. What type of doctor would be the best in searching for many different possibilities? Possibilities like mold, Lyme (every doc besides my LLMD threw that possibility out the window without even testing me), gene mutations, etc. A less conventional type of doctor because besides my LLMD, most of the doctors I've seen lately run on the same wave length of medically conservative thinking.

Darwayne - you mentioned you were negative on the Igenex WB IgM and IgG. Did you have any positive lyme 'specific' bands on either of those?

IgM came back all negative besides 41=indeterminate

IgG came back 39=ind, 41=++, 66=+, rest is negative

I'll look for some nearby and see if any come recommended! I guess the idea is to try and find the right person that really wants to figure it out and I've had a hard time finding that. After my DNAconnex, my LLMD kind of gave up on the Lyme possibility and I did the rest on my own. He's smart and all but I know 1 test can't rule Lyme out and he knows a lot more about Lyme than me lol. Thanks G

Band 39 is lyme specific. And Ind means something showed up, just not strong enough to be a positive.
some say it's a 'weak' positive.
Also 41 means a bacteria with a flagella (tail) - which can be lyme disease as well.

And you're correct - one test can't rule out lyme.

You could find a new LLMD who will evaluate you based on symptoms, history and use testing just as back-up.

...or you could do a retest... I do know of some people who retested a couple months later and did get a + on lyme specific band(s)

I guess another test wouldn't hurt to compare the two. Wish I had gotten it while I was doing all the nonsense with the garlic, andrographis and oregano lol. If that helps at all..

Thanks for the suggestions! When I do get the 2nd test results, I'll run it past you to get your take!
