There's this seeming misconception that the Rifamycin class of drugs are really only good for Bartonella. While this is a Tier 1 drug for this pathogen what's little known is this class of drugs hits Lyme very hard due to its unique mechanism of action versus other classes of abx.
My brother who works in a top hospital in Seattle works with a nurse who's treated many lyme patients over the past 20 years. She said the most effective drug for Lyme was Rifampin especially when it went chronic.
Thanks for posting Rikky. I think most llmd's don't usually prescribe for lyme though...so we aren't thinking of it for lyme meds. I'm not sure why...I don't think it's any harsher (or more risks) than the usual lyme abx.
I've read it's good for cysts, too. Maybe it was you who posted that information.
