Which Buhner herbs can upset your stomach?

Hey all! I've been doing pretty well lately all things considered, though the past few days I've had some mild stomach issues. I'm on a ton of Buhner herbs and other supplements and have slowly been upping the dose on most of them gradually so I'm pretty sure one of them is the culprit. From reading his book I found that the following parts of his protocol can cause GI issues in some cases:

Japanese Knotweed
Ashwaganda
Skullcap
Vitamin C
Selenium
Cats Claw

So as an experiment I'm going to stop taking those for a day or so to see if it improves. If not, I guess the next step is taking a break from everything for a day or two and then trying to identify the culprit. Maybe I've just caught a bug though, there are so many colds going around here I feel like barricading my door right now.

Has anyone else experienced any stomach discomfort on any of these herbs, or Buhner's other ones? It'd be a great help if I could narrow down the problem from the 20 odd things I'm taking.

I haven't had stomach issues directly caused by the herbs that I can tell, but I do get flares of gastritis when bart acts up. I also have had soreness in my intestines related to whatever pathogenic mess I've got in there.

When my gut is inflamed, which it used to be A LOT, the powdered herbs were sometimes irritating.

I've heard cryptolepis can kill bacteria in the gut and upset gut flora, but you didn't mention crypto or CSA.

Thanks for the info. The last time my stomach bothered me was when I was on a bunch of antibiotics and they were causing me problems. This feels similar, but not nearly as severe fortunately. Do you think it'd be reasonable to take a day off from everything to see if that helps, or would that be too much of a set back?

I had stomach pain with Cryptolepis for sure. I have a lot of pollen/plant allergies so not sure if it is related to that.

I can tolerate 3-drug antibiotic regimen with lots of pills without any problem like the Cryptolepis caused.

Resveratrol causes IBS diarrhea symptoms for me. Japanese Knotweed contains resveratrol, so that could be a potential culprit for you.

Vitamin C is another culprit for me—causes bad stomach aches in high doses, even if I use buffered or ester-C.

You could stop everything for a day or two to let your pain dissipate, then restart everything one at a time, with a few days in between. That’s how I figured out Cryptolepis was the problem.

So I just started on the cryptolepis and I have a dull ache in my stomach and just fatigued. I didn't know what it was.

Perhaps it's that?

I'm not on cryptolepis but I am on other things that can cause stomach discomfort like I listed above. I'll give it a break for a day and see if that helps then. I've been feeling alright lately and I don't want to cause new problems by pushing it too much.
