Yeah, at this point given the size of the epidemic the momentum is going our way because it is becoming harder and harder to ignore and marginalize this fast growing group of patients. It's sad that it takes more people getting sick, but ultimately that is what will break the dam. The fact that powerful people are getting ill is a factor too, they have resources and are pouring it into research (Cohens, Cauldwells, etc).
I expect nothing from the gov side except stonewalling and shameless disinformation, this is like HIV where it took private institutions and citizens to shame the gov into action. But probably harder to get gov moving on this because they have staked their credibility on denial of persistence... and I have various theories on why they've been so adamant in denying persistence but that is another story for another day ;)
Fact is, I do think things are changing for the better. I don't know the rate and I don't know when we will get full acknowledgement, but I'm convinced it will happen.
