If I don't respond to babesia treatment, do I not have it?

I was tested for one strain of babesia and it was negative, I have been given new tests but they are too expensive. I was on Buhner's babesia protocol for 2-3 months and saw no improvement and had no reactions. I started with the full doses and did that the whole time without fail. Is it probable I don't have babesia?

Not necessarily. I tried some of Buhner's herbs for Babesia...and had no response.
Did you do the full protocol?

I can't remember if Artemisinin is in the babs protocol.
I did respond to that...for awhile...but then nothing after.

But, I did respond to Mepron.

Yes, the full protocol. Cryptolepis, sida acuta, etc. I don't think I have symptoms of babesia either, though it seems like symptoms of any co-infection or Lyme can mean anything nowadays.

I didn't know if I did, I just assumed I had every co-infection or that I should just treat everything in case. I really don't have any symptoms that I know of that apply to it. I think way in the beginning of treatment I took Mepron (that yellow liquid stuff?) and didn't react to it.

Maybe it is my immune system, I don't know. I do react when I get colds/the flu so it's not like my immune system isn't doing anything. I also have histamine issues so it seems like if anything I would overreact to things. But if I don't have it I'm glad I have one less thing to treat! Lol.

Hmm, no response to mepron or antiprotozoal herbs... plus you said you don't seem to have babesia symptoms. Babesia can certainly lurk in background, but if you aren't able to engender a response via antiprotozoals it might mean you just don't have this pathogen.

But given most of our situations are polymicrobial I think a good hedge is to treat with broad-spectrum antimicrobials (with tactical rotations whenever we plateau) because it's hard to know which infections actually are in play.
