I’m updating in case it helps others. The tubes do expire, I don’t know why I didn’t know that! Anyway if that happens to you, all you have to do is go to your phlebotomist and ask them to use their own tubes to replace the expired ones. Our kit had a lavender top, a green top, and a tiger top (orange and gray) tube and they just replaced those with theirs. They had to add more tubes because the volume capacity of the tubes was different. Also, they centrifuge one of the tubes before getting it all packaged up and shipping it to Igenex in case that helps someone else. My husband asked if they were going to package it up and the phlebotomist said they had to send it to another part of the lab first to spin it. I called Igenex to make sure that was correct that the lab would need to do that and they said yes. So in case that helps anyone else, there you go!
