I pulse abx and ever couple weeks take flagyl so I can't mix with alcohol. I may start babs herbals but not sure how long I should wait to use the tinctures after taking flagyl or other abx that do not go with alcohol? Anyone take ceftin,mino or azithromycin with tinctures?

I have taken herbal tinctures along with those meds (except for flagyl, I've never taken that). I think it is generally ok, even Buhner seems to say many antimicrobial herbs are ok to take with meds. I think the amount of alcohol in the tinctures is rather negligible given that one is taking drops and not cupfuls of alcohol. What babs tinctures are you thinking of taking?

I've taken Ceftin mino and azithromycin with tinctures. (not together - ie same time though)

I am currently taking Flagyl two days per month...and I continue to take my tinctures...but they're a few hours apart from the flagyl. It is a minute amount of alcohol. (I don't take many tinctures - just hawthorn, burbur (sometimes), Jernigan's neuro anti-tox II, Cryptolepis.)

Thanks for the replies I'll start slow space them out at least a few hours, i was supposed to start taking burbur and pinella which I finally ordered so I'll start those soon. But for the bab tinctures, it's cryptolepis, houttuynia, teasel, adrographis, sarsaparilla. Although I've read some neg reviews of the andrographis so I'm not sure about that one yet. Plus side acuta, salvia, artemsia in capsules.
