Bartonella bells palsy

Hey guys, so I have straight bartonella symptoms. The blurry vision, shin bone pain, feet pain, terrible dissacoation, aanxiety, ect. But, I also have noticeable muscle loss on one side of my face and have had it ever since my bartonella got let from dormancy from a stressful life situation. I know this is many Lyme though but was wondering if bartonella can cause it? I really don't know what I would do. In treating bart with Rifabutin and minocycline and going on my 4th day. So far flu like symptoms, a little bit depression, fuzzy vision, and some brain fog. Its bearable.

I haven't heard of bartonella causing bells palsy symptoms. Maybe along with hitting bart you are also hitting lyme? I know mino has good activity against borrelia.

Bels Palsy is hallmark Lyme. But, I wouldn't be surprised if bart also causes it - as bart hits the nervous system (cns and pns) hard.

Nonetheless - when you treat Bart with abx, lyme is usually covered. Minocycline is a good med for lyme and I believe rifampin also has some action on it.

Girlie- so the rifabutin and mino should hit Lyme too if I have it? Would I need anything else? Like a persister drug ?

Are these your 1st bart treatments? If so I'd see how far it takes you and add in or rotate meds whenever you plateau or stop flaring on the meds. Did you end up taking the plaquenil?

Some of those persister meds are heavy-duty. I'd only take those with a doc who has experience using them.

Seberg- yes this is my first bart treatment. I plan on adding in plaquenil and septra ds soon. I guess I will see how I do before exploring more Lyme meds.

Yes, that combo hits lyme and bartonella.

You should take something for the cyst form.... like Flagyl or Tinidazole. I only take it two days per the 4 week cycle.

And...also something for biofilms.

I would not suggest anyone take the Dapsone and/or Daraprim without a knowledgeable LLMD...to oversee it.

I was tested for G6PD, and also Folic Acid level prior to starting the protocols.

And, I have been getting labs done every 4 weeks.
