I use conventional Drs as much as possible for my non-lyme concerns, because most basic stuff is proven and insurance pays for it if you have good insurance vs really high deductibles.
Specialists always want to send info back to one GP.
Like most here, I dont let one GP control my health care, since none of them know everything. So I have a couple GP's:
1) One older one for standard old school stuff where experience really helps a lot, but is stubborn to new info.
2) A second younger one with "holistic" interests that is willing to give me tests and referrals when the old dude wont.
Good example- my old dude Endo who only recently took noted that Gluten seems to effect many of his Hashimoto patients; those going G/F are more likely to stabilize.
I did this and have stabilized, so he says we can retest in a year from now. "What?" I said, "a year from now its possible for me to go hyper being G/F". He still doesn't "get it". Tired of these old school Drs but they help if your run over by a car - they seen that sort of thing before. Clueless as far as health maintenance goes. Wait till it brakes is not a good plan.
