I have been off abx for 4 or 5 weeks now. I was still twitching, joint pain etc but llmd wanted me to go with A Bart only. My symptoms slowly got worse but I just thought maybe I was coming down with something or it was just stress. I lost my health insurance coverage and now have to pay $436/week for cobra!!! Had to raid 401k sad. So I was/am really stressed.

Well I ruined another Christmas, I was really, really bad 2 days before and still am. I emailed llmd on Christmas eve and his office called today. I have an appointment tomorrow.

I was on rifampin, azithromyacin, and plaquenil but felt like I was plateauing. What abx do you all recommend? I want to have a treatment plan to suggest for my appointment tomorrow.

Blue Lyme if you read this what helped you beat the carrions?

Thinking you are getting better and then relapsing again and again can really wear you down.

I empathize mikey ...bartonella bacilliformis is a doozie ....has two cell walls ...so i tripled it up ...my liver and cortisol hated rifampin...i stayed on pulsed zith sun tue thur, bvt mwf and rife everyday plus i think it was zhang protocol of hh2 and allicin really put the hurt on bart! ...at 45 a bottle x2 and thats only 15 days ...i think i did 4 months ...eat green stuff like wheat grass if you smell too garlicly...
Remember hit diflucan on off weekends and support adrenals and restore anemia while detoxing . Its a ft job and we're tired ...i didnt break bart from my vertigo until the 9 month mark...chin up mike

Have you tried bactrim? I know some have liked rifabutin instead of rifampin.

I did doxy/rif/bactrim/plaq for a few months. I’m pretty sure I still have bart.

Just wondered if the ABart is new to you or if you have been on it all along.

Possible that the increase in worsening symptoms is from die off/herxing .

Bart is a tough one , I have had improvement after about 18 months on The Buhner Bart protocol and also hitting the Babesia has helped too.

I no longer get marks or twitching from Bart.

Hope you had a good appointment and hope you get some relief soon.

Haven't tried bactrim. Rifabutin was oe I was going to bring up at appointment. I've been on the A Bart for 8 months now.

Are you doing the 20 drops 3x a day . Bw usually hits ?

I had taken Rifampin for a little over a year.


Now I'm on rifabutin...and it's wicked...

Girlie, what about rifabutin makes you say it's wicked? What kind of side effects?

It has flared symptoms that were minimal or gone. Plus I just feel unwell on it.

Something is affecting my kidneys - I thought it was dapsone and daraprim but I also take Rifabutin on same days...

Might as well increase a bit...i too plateaued quik on it ...
Rifabutin has a long half life and since its close to riffy i assume itbuses the cytochrome p450 pathway to eliminate via liver n kidneys ...mine were taxed enough...since ur dippin in 401 have you considered a plasma rife ?

I would like to try rife and hyperbaric but 401k is pretty strict about what I can and can't use my money for, I don't think either would be approved. I'm making medical hardship withdrawals.

Doc put me back on rifampin, plaquenil, azith, nystatin, vsl 3 and added ceftin. Ordered some blood tests, cbc, cd57 , vitamib d, liver etc. Talking about trying high doses of vitamin d? Initially talked about picc line again but neither one of us really want to go that route again, just a pain. I was making headway when we stopped abx, I think we just stopped to soon. So another 4 to 6 months on abx. Six months will be two years of treatment.

Also starting csm plus staying on most of the supplements, bvt and A Bart. Maybe this will do it.
