Hi all just wanted to share the good news and encouragement that my LLMD told me today that I can return to work 1 or 2 days a week! I work with kids so I’m so excited to return and be able to feel all of their positive energy again. I have been off since September and have done a full three months of treatment with antibiotics. My lingering symptoms are high blood pressure which is being controlled by meds, some anxiety, excess burping, some lingering nerve pain and ringing in my ears. I’ll be continuing to treat for another three months. I tested negative for BART but since my remaining symptoms all seem BART related I’m wondering if I should add in a BART specific antibiotic or do A-BART? I feel I had the best results once I added in LDN. One thing I am concerned about is catching germs from all the little hands I’m be around. Anyone have any ideas on how to boost my immunity? I’m so thankful to be getting better and hope that all of you get better as well. Sending my love xoxo

Congratulations on your return.

i was nervous about my return back in July, wasn't sure what to expect while go back with some symptoms and while still treating. 6 months later i am glad that i did, the transition the first couple weeks was a little bit slow, but i found that everyone was supportive where i work. I work as a software architect/developer in pharma ironically.

the challenge i face now is that when i came back, they were taking it easy on me, giving me easy stuff to do that normally would be way below my level or responsibility, that got old kinda fast, now i am challenged to try to get back to where i was before that (pre-lyme.) Part of me wishes i would have never been open with them about what i was facing or going through, but then again, if i wouldn't they may not have been so understanding. it kinda feels like a stigma is attached to me from this lyme there now

i would just be mindful of stuff like that, you will have to decide for yourself how open (if it all) you are willing to be about tickborne stuff with work.

Congrats! that is exciting!!! so happy to hear you are getting back to work and have improved so much.

That's awesome. I'm very happy and slightly jealous of you.I reallllllly want to go back to work. I've been out since June 2018. My lows are just so low that it scares me to go back. Good luck!

Now how much should I worry about having a relapse once I come off the antibiotics in a few months? Is that something I should look out for?

Great news!

Make sure you get your rest.....listen to your body.

If any symptoms come back you need to let your Dr. know.

Also, if your current ones get worse...or just keep hanging on...that's something to pay attention to.

Thanks I’ll for sure do that if things linger or if any new problems arise. I had to go on blood pressure meds when I got Lyme, first was 25mg but that sill wasn’t helping lower it so my primary doctor upped it to 50mg. (This was all prior to knowing I had Lyme new.) My LLMD said I can try going back down to 25mg and see how I do. She said if it’s still high she will have to look at targeting confections specifically. I’m hoping for the best but am still very thankful to be where I am now regardless of still being on BP meds.

That is awesome to hear HeartsinPain!! I am awaiting my return to work in a couple of months too (hopefully). It's good to hear you have made progress and remember when we both started treatment around the same time late last year. =]

My LLMD said it was ok to try to cut down my blood pressure meds to 25mg. I did so the past few days but my BP has been pretty high. The high BP happened when I got Lyme. I took 50mg today since it was pretty darn high but do you guys think I’ll have to stay on 50mg forever? I still have three months of antibiotic treatment left so I’m hoping I’ll be able to come off it by then but who knows. I guess what I’m trying to say is have any of your blood pressure problems gotten better after treating Lyme? I know most people go low, the doctor even though it was add my BP got high with the Lyme. Thanks again everyone.
