I've had Lyme for a while now, and it's every hard for others to understand you and what you're going through I don't go out much, and it's hard to make friends. I was wondering if there is a specific thread or page where you can make new relationships with people who have Lyme or a related illness?

Hi Fightforever and welcome to our forum!!!
While Im not sure about
actual support groups or get together s for people with Lyme , I can tell you that members here are very supportive and knowledgeable.
So always feel free to reach out to connect with someone here or ask any questions you may have.
You could search in your area for support groups for Lyme and that would be a great way to meet others fighting this same battle.
We do encourage you to check out our new to Lyme start here thread at the top of the page. It has all kinds of information on Lyme, symptoms , testing and more.
Take care and i wish you the best of healing.

Welcome to our community, Fightforever.
I also think you should try to find a support group near you and connect with other lyme patients.
I have made one new friend since having lyme...but it was through my husband - his buddy's new girlfriend.
I don't have many ways to meet people since I'm not working anymore...or doing much outside the home. A movie here and there...and meet at a coffee shop...but these are my friends I've had for a long time.

Here's something you may wish to consider:
Find a Lyme Support Group

Good luck. I hope you find the support you need and deserve.

Along with finding a support group in your area (for Lyme or anything else, or general chronic illness - maybe lupus or something too idk), I'd suggest just looking online for meet ups and stuff. Or even posting in a local forum. I made a few new friends online recently. Social life is hard and demanding. I can hardly keep up with this many people lol.

1)In face to face vs online: Its easier to just understand that a good portion of people just suck and what many thought were "friendships" were just overrated and unneeded acquaintances. Loners rule for this reason. I'm only a half loner and trying to improve in this area. Nothing like personal improvement right?
2)Seriously, the ones who left........ you didn't need. They were hoping to get something from you in this life and didn't. This is unfortunately an eye
opener. Confused? Read #1 again.
