my naturopath uses a vega machine to test herbs for me (still dont know if i buy it..) but anyways he added red sage and juniper to my protocol....i know red sage is dan shen, similar to chinese skullcap, but i havent heard about juniper...has anyone heard of it or taken it?: i asked what it did and np said it was a "bug killer, antimicrobial"...any info would be appreciated, thanks

I think Buhner has written about it. This is juniper berry right? It is supposed to be good for UTI, but I think it can hit a variety of stuff. Could be worth trying. I took a juniper berry tea and it did make me flare a bit. I got my dad a tincture of it (I think it was mountain elk herbs or something like that) because he was dealing with UTI stuff.

Juniper is a diuretic (flushes out kidneys, makes you pee), it stimulates bile flow, and has anti-inflammatory properties.

I don't know about the properties of juniper, but just the smell of it tells me it's a badass anti-bacterial antioxidant anti-everything smile I bought the tea out of pure respect for the plant, the look and the aroma.
