Weak positive is it Lyme?

I want your opinion on Lyme test done in Germany, I had a 2 for Borrelia which means weak positive. I have a discussion with my son, he says I still have Lyme, I said I don’t. I was diagnosed in 2009 after many years being sick, was treated with IV Abx for 9 months and got well; I lived a great life for 4 years. After a lot of stress and without a medication that helped me sleep better, I moved to a new place at the end of 2014 and got sick again; apparently what tests done recently show is that I have mold in my system. Main symptoms are fatigue, no stamina some days, foggyness other days and anxiety after being sick for a couple of days. I function on my own, having around 3 good days on a week; being diagnosed with fibromyalgia; so the question for you is do u think I still have Lyme?

My first guess was mold since it came on after move. Are you still in the same place?

Testing will likely always show some positive to lyme since they are antibody tests. There are no tests that indicate active or not active. Also, you probably never fully clear the bacteria. The antibiotics get it low enough that your immune system can handle it.

What testing did you have to indicate mold? Hopefullyyou have a practitioner that is knowledgeable about mold.

My best guess is you may still have lyme in your system but it might not be the primary driver of your illness complex. Although it could be a secondary factor... may want to look into mold and mold detox given what you've said. Neil Nathan wrote a book called Toxic, I think it is supposed to have a lot of good information on the subject.

Was the test (2 for Borrelia) done after your treatment?
Yes, you could still have lyme. Symptoms can come back if our immune system suffers - (stress can contribute to that)
It could also be mold....or both. The mold exposure could also cause a relapse of lyme IMO.

The Elispot/Ispot tests have been used by LLMD's to gauge treatment. They're not the same as the WB tests...but I don't know how reliable it is.

What could be happening is the mold is weakening your immune system. I had a few lyme symptoms but then they vanished but i lived in a very moldy house. My lyme came back several years later.

My body was dealing with both until the symptoms came out so. The symptoms you are describing sound like mold. Lyme symptoms would probably be worse if you still had it after all these years. See how you feel when you are outside. Is there a difference?

My kids and husband did the elispot with armin. My husband and oldest daughter had high positive numbers (both are fine and it has been 4 years). My youngest daughter was weak positive and son was negative. I don’t think testing positive means much unless you have symptoms.
