Getting root canal taken out

Zirconium is supposed to be the most compatible. I would not do titanium.

I think it's best to have a compatibility test done....as you can't predict what you'll react to.
Wouldn't a bio dentist do that anyway?


What did Dick VanDyke have? He had a really bad reaction to an implant.

I've not had a root canal...but getting my first crown ever...and I'm concerned that when they grind down my tooth...it will cause trauma...ending up in my root dying.....

Most holistic dentists will offer (or even insist on) materials compatibility testing, like the Clifford test, for around $300. That said, as far as I know, it is comparatively unlikely that you'd respond poorly to zirconium.

Leaving the gap is a legitimate choice, for sure, but if your teeth move around a lot, then it could mess up your bite and cause jaw issues down the road. Please keep in mind that a little single-tooth denture, usually called a "partial" is the cheapest replacement option, and they're made so well now that no one would be able to tell the difference when it's in, even for a visible tooth.

I had an old root canal removed last week by a holistic dentist, and I will be getting a partial denture in a few days. The tooth was #12, which is right behind an upper canine tooth, and therefore very visible. Definitely can't afford an implant. Hope your procedure goes smoothly!

Yes, the clifford test is pricey but nice to know what won't work for you. Mine showed 18 thinks that I was reactive too. Some I already knew. The report is 188 pages long and lists out just about every dental material possible.

Wouldn't it be nice if doctors ran this report for everyone? I'm sure things change though as we age so would need to be ran again.

I'm sensitive to a lot of stuff but titanium nor zirconium were not on my list of reactive items. I have to be careful with the cement used.

Well, if you already haven't viewed the movie "Root Cause"...go ahead and see it anyway. It is compelling, as in it may compel you to want to have your teeth checked again at least, and the old root canal infections aren't something to be dismissed as unconditionally harmless (and yes as my folks sadly ignored me, I even told my Aunt to get hers checked but she already had a cancer thing already maybe the infection is still in her teeth somewhere..and the root cause of her cancer stuff..who knows) ..and wow...

Netflix pulled the video after claims of harmful misinformation (!)... or maybe it seemed to be a protracted ad for dental work... (?) anyway...I feel sorta embarrassed that I recommended it, but I wouldn't throw the baby out with the bathwater just yet on the subject of infectious basis of many diseases either.

Science is not perfect but it is better than a lot of things, like say a hammer, lol.

There's something to it, these infections. Sometimes the infection (and corruption) run deep in our jaw bones.

Sure I'd like to inform myself and get all the tests done, but this near impossible on a shoe-string budget.

Lastly, can you believe they didn't know H. Pylori was the ulcer-bug? Until like the early-2000's??

Personally, I was very relieved to have an impacted wisdom tooth removed at the free clinic, could have gotten much worse had I not.
