Did any had to pause abx regularly for several days bc of herx?

Hello all,

I need help in problem i cant figure out. As you no, each abx has its own half life, during the active half life the abx is active for killing, but when abx is out of the system no more killing with abx. But another thing is you take any abx wish in turn also disrupts a biofilm. In this stage lots of bacteria are released out and while the abx is out of your system, the immune system is still busy killing and ... making you herx like you want to kill yourself too. At this point you must stop abx, in the further 2 to 3 days you are still herxing, getting rashes etc., when the abx were already stopped 2 days ago.
So my question is did anybody had to pause abx in regular basis for more than 3 days and after recovered resumed again abx, then another more than 3 days, and so on?

Currently there but I did have to stop now for candida and second day wow the herx from it is crazy bad worse I ever had. Yes worse than lyme etc.

Yes this is why a lot of people pulse them, meaning take them only 2 or 3 days a week.

I thank you. Im in a position where i must take a very low dose of a cephalosporin (cefixime) 100mg, only two days week if i am lucky. Once being the Norm. I have to back off most of times. Symptoms ramp up, i jerk all Over the place, i call it jerxheimer Afraid of this unregular abx taking causing resistance?[img]

I believe it's the opposite actually, the longer you take antibiotics the more the bacteria become resistant to them. This is why you need multiple antibiotics and possibly pulsing.

The only antibiotic I pulse is Flagyl which is two days a week. I’m thinking of upping it to three days a week. Would that help? I’m on month seven of treating but still have some reminding symptoms.

You could always try it? I just started on Flagyl today actually, I'm doing it IV once a week. I hope I don't herx. That'd be the only thing keeping me from doing it more often (oh yeah, and it also costs like 90 bucks lol)

Flagyl is usually not that expensive. You can get it for less than 30 bucks from inhousepharmacy or alldaychemist.

Well that is why the pharmacy sheet says to take the entire prescription of antibiotics because stopping before it’s irradicated can lead to resistance.
BUT - that is for other bacteria’s - ie strep ... staph... etc etc

Apparently lyme and CO’s don’t replicate fast - lyme being 3 weeks and Bart and Babs several hours/days
Other bacteria are replicating quicker

Now this is what I was told a while ago (not from DrJ)

And when you combine two or more it lessens the chance of resistance as well.
