Babesiosis and Arrhythmias?

Hi All,

This is my first time using a forum like this after years of struggling to heal. My doctor believes I have issues with babesia and bartonella and probably have for decades. None of my Igenex tests have been positive so I always have some doubt. I have been doing an herbal protocol with her for over a year and have not improved much (though I did an herbal protocol for a year and a half about 5 years ago and was feeling great - i had to stop when I became pregnant and then was nursing). I go up and down with symptoms. Today I started using A-BAB and my arrhythmia and palpitations (which comes and goes, sometimes for months at a time) came back full force within a couple of hours after taking one drop along with panic attacks, but those happen all the time anyway. Coincidence? Has anyone else experience that as a herx reaction? Does anyone else struggle with validation without a positive lab test? Has anyone else been on herbal protocols for extended periods of time and not gotten better?

I've been doing this alone for so long now that I'm hoping a community will help when I have days like this. Thanks in advance.

It definitely sounds like a Herx reaction and not a coincidence. Have you treated for Bart/Bab before w antibiotics or just a few herbs here and there over the years? Either way, with the A-Bab it sounds like progress, as long as you manage the herxeimer reactions with regular detoxing. I have experienced heart issues and palpitations as a herx reaction... (or maybe its the Azithromycin LOL) Anyways...

There's plenty of us here that have used herbs for an extended period. Many on antibiotics for a long period also.
I can't remember off the top of my head but there has been a few members here (PeteZa ?? correct if wrong) that have had success with herbs as the predominant treatment method. Buhner's books are a good start if you havent already got a hold of them - that will tell you whats safe for long term use and what isnt.

Regarding the pos testing - I didnt have babs or bart show but it was a clinical diagnosis based on symptoms from a LLMD. Are you seeing an LLMD? It's recommended you see one, as most regular doctors just don't have a clue when it comes to tick-borne infections.

Also check each herb on ababs and see the possible adverse reactions. Problem with ababs and abart is that they have mixed herbs and you have no way to tell if any cause you reactions. There are sole herbs for babs, abx, check with your doc to disuss that reaction ok?
