Luvstruck, I wouldn't blame you for preferring the IM ABX. It could be that some widely accepted medicine, the way it is practiced currently, is wrong, or not optimal. Oral ABX being driven by profits and greed? Who knew?
Well there is a lot of that going on, pushing drugs with the highest and easiest profit margins, and I like to think there are super cheap cures (like say nutrition and exercise and a fun place to live) that well, no one can directly profit from, though it does society well to promote these (activity, good nutrition and meaningful life).
I hadn't heard that about oral antibiotics until now (aren't IV, IM abx more expensive?), but then I've never compared oral to IM or IV antibiotics, as I haven't had the luxury of choosing.
I'd say use what you can get, and whatever is best for you.
