I waited one entire week without abx and yesterday i only took 200mg valproate, jerked all night, and in the morning the beast showed itself with a rash in my neck. So i can attest that valproate is a potent abx itself.

Be careful taking valproate without any other antibiotics if you have batronella. I found that valproate could make bart flare, but wouldn't completely kill it.

You must have been treating for a while if you got a herx that fast. When I first started, it would take a week or two before I felt the herx. Now it is much quicker.

I know it does not completly Kills it, but if i take any abx, it flares even more and worst. You see?

Valproate seemed to be fine for treating borrelia burgdorferi.

Bartonella seems to have an active resistance to antibiotics. I had this problem not only with valproate, but also clarithromycin and amoxicillin. The bart would flare in response to the antibiotics, and it did not die off but got worse.

Valproate plus minocycline actually killed the bartonella, but this made me herx bad, and I got a lot of toxicity. It made my stomach hurt from all the toxins, and my urine smelled bad.

Arent you still using minocycline?

I also use cefixime. I forgot to mention that cistus incanus incremented my herx by ten fold.

Just used today and yesterday cistus and cefixime, just got another rash in my left knee. Cistus is powerfull
