I was wondering if running intensely can cause a herx reaction? ...got a bad panic attack with a dizzy spell... Also anyone have very bizarre odd out there thoughts with this illness? Thanks smile
Running intensely, yep I had a strange reaction (full body hives) from a quick run/sprint at the park, this was before I really knew I was sick. That was weird, but to answer your other question, I do have some bizarre and strange thoughts at times, that would be the "neuropsychiatric manifestations" of this disease that can present themselves (and frustratingly that most psych. doctors won't attribute to a systemic infection.) Well, we know better here about
that. Anyway, I don't have much else to say other than that it is fairly well-known by knowledgeable LLMDs and a good number of patients that cardio exercise can activate this disease with a flare-up whereas light lifting, stretching, yoga, pilates, easy walks and easy bike rides don't flare as much, not sure if I read this somewhere but I think it might have been the fact that these bacteria are anaerobic and don't like a massive influx of oxygen that intense cardiovascular workout brings, hence being more in less oxygen dense tissue like joints, eyeballs, cartilage and brains, however they do live in muscles too, and can exist in every cell of the body if (maybe that was just bart or babesia as one of them is smaller at the micron level..? can't remember) Hope that helps. And just to add, I get panic and anxiety symptoms from eating the wrong foods too, stuff like bread, carbs...
